Woods Cockroach (Parcoblatta pennsylvanica)

I. Behavior and Habitat

- Found in rotted logs, tree stumps, hollow trees, stopped up rain gutters and piles of firewood
- Winged males take flight in late spring in search of females
- Attracted to light when they accidentally invade homes
- Rarely, if ever, breed indoors

II. Control

- Exclude by sealing around gaps in doors, screens and windows
- Sticky traps, crack/crevice insecticide applications
- Baits are most effective
